Jammu: In a daring operation, a chopper of the Indian AirForce on Monday successfully rescued two persons stuck on an under-constructionbridge in the Tawi river in Jammu. Dramatic visuals available from Jammu showedthree persons, reportedly, getting stuck in the Tawi river following a suddenincrease in water level.
While two persons got stuck on the bridge and could be seensitting on a concrete slab, a third one was seen trying to reach for safety inthe flooded river.A chopper of the Indian Air Force was pressed into service torescue the men stuck in the river. Visuals available from the site showed anIAF personnel being lowered from the chopper onto the concrete slab. Minutes later, the two persons were airliftedfrom the flooded river using a rope. The IAF man was also soon airlifted tosafety. The status of the third man seen in the river could not be ascertained.News agency, however, reported that four persons had got stuck and all havebeen rescued.
